Tony Bennett (b. 1926) is a celebrated interpreter of traditional pop songs. Guest star on Episode 106 of Muppets Tonight.

He also performed a duet of "Firefly" with Kermit the Frog on his 1998 album, "The Playground."

In one of the more recent seasons of Sesame Street, during an episode involving Slimey going to the moon, he sang a parody of "Fly Me To the Moon" (first recorded by Kaye Ballard), "Slimey To the Moon."

Discovered by Muppet Show guest Bob Hope in 1950.

Signature song is "I Left My Heart in San Francisco."

His recordings of "Because of You," Cold, Cold Heart" and "Rags to Riches" reached #1 on the Billboard charts during the early 1950s.

Bennett's 1994 live recording "MTV Unplugged" won the Grammy Award for Album of the Year.

Received the Pied Piper Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers in 2002.

Inducted into the Big Band and Jazz Hall of Fame in 1997.

Performed "If I Ruled the World" at the "Party at the Palace" commemorating Queen Elizabeth II's Golden Jubilee. Kermit the Frog also participated in the all-star concert held on the lawn of Buckingham Palace.

Recipient of the 2005 Kennedy Center Honors.
