Jean Stapleton (b. 1923) is an American actress best known for playing Edith Bunker (nicknamed 'Dingbat') on All in the Family, from 1971-79. She is also a singer who appeared in musicals, including the teleplay "Something's Afoot" (1984). Guest star on Episode 306: Jean Stapleton Episode 306 of The Muppet Show.
